Cascade Brewery
Australia's oldest brewery, Cascade was established in its photogenic location on the southwestern edge of the city centre in 1832. It's still in use today, producing tasty beverages (beer and soft drinks) for nationwide consumption. Brewery tours last 90 minutes, involve plenty of stair climbing, and include thirst-quenching free samples at the end. |

Mt Wellington
Hobart is dominated by the 1270m (4165ft) Mt Wellington. There's a web of walking tracks over and around the summit, and the views (when the lowering fog allows) are fabulous. You can take a local bus to the base of the mountain at Fern Tree then enjoy a stunning, five- to six-hour return walk. |
